Successions
When an individual passes away, a Will Search must be conducted in order to verify whether they had a notarized last Will and Testament (or one that was being held with an attorney). Should a notarized last Will and Testament exists, the succession will devolve as per the testamentary provisions provided unless there is a formal contestation made before the Court. Should an unnotarized last Will and Testament exist (Will made in the presence of witnesses or a holographic Will), they will need to be recognized or probated by the Court in the case of contestation.
